What a day to start my blog! You'll see as I go that one of (too) many things I love to do is to plan parties! And Cinco de Mayo definitely strikes up the desire to party and partake in an ice cold Margarita (or 2) for me! It also sparks the visions of string lights and color...OH MY the colors....
(For the pictures...I thank you miss Martha Stewart ;)
And what would a Cinco de Mayo post be without a classic fresh Margarita recipe....mmm.
...CLASSIC MARGARITA...
1 lime, cut into wedges
Coarse salt
Ice cubes
1 3/4 cups tequila
1/4 cup cointreau
1/4 cup grand marnier
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
-salt rim the glasses by rubbing cut lime around edge of each glass. fill a saucer with salt and dip each glass upside down into the salt.
-fill a blender jar three-quarters full of ice cubes. pour tequila, cointreau, grand marnier and lime juice over the ice. blend on low then slowly increase speed to high until the ice is very finely chopped and mix is extra frothy. pour into salt rimmed glasses and serve...mmm!
